This is just a piece of 2x stock with a very straight top edge which is then "hollowed out" so that only the edges touch the fingerboard. Slots are cut out to clear the frets. The fingerboard is placed face-down with the neck on top for gluing. The whole thing is clamped to a flat workbench. I use as many clamps as I can fit to ensure good contact. It is usually a good idea to place a piece of wax paper down first to catch the glue squeezout.
